Executive Chef Thierry Grodet brings his vast knowledge of the hotel restaurant industry and culinary skills to The Westin Peachtree Plaza.

Chef Grodet comes to The Westin Peachtree Plaza from the Hotel Westin Diplomat Hollywood Resort and Spa in Florida, where he spent three years as the executive sous chef. Grodet developed his culinary skills in different gastronomic restaurants in his native France, including the Hotel Royal Club Evian and Hotel Lesdigueres Grenoble. In 1986, he moved to Miami to work as sous chef at the Hotel Sofitel. Grodet subsequently owned and operated A Tour of France restaurant in Miami before negotiating a profitable sale in 1991 and moving on to the InterContinental Hotel in Miami as chef de cuisine.

Grodet attended Ecole Hoteliere de Nice and Grenoble and received the highest degree in France for business administration and cost control, and the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in hotel management. He brings his expertise in French contemporary cuisine to the Westin’s menus and his management skills to the kitchen staff.

Located at 210 Peachtree Street in Downtown Atlanta, The Westin Peachtree Plaza, which houses The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View, opened in February 1976 as the world’s tallest hotel. Designed by Atlanta architect John Portman, it remains the tallest hotel in the western hemisphere.

The Sun Dial Restaurant, Bar & View is a tri-level complex, featuring a revolving restaurant and bar plus a viewing level all located 723 feet above Atlanta atop The The Westin Peachtree Plaza. The restaurant serves lunch daily from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and dinner Sunday – Thursday from 6 - 11 p.m., on Friday from 6 - 11:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 5:30 – 11:30 p.m. The bar is open Monday – Friday from 4 p.m. until closing, on Saturday from 2 p.m. until closing, and on Sunday from 2 – 11:30 p.m. Live Jazz is provided by the Mose Davis Trio every Wednesday and Thursday from 6 – 10 p.m. The viewing level is open daily from 10 a.m. until closing.
